Danish Deaf Sports Federation (DDI) is an independent Sports Federation in The Danish Sports Organization for the Disabled (DHIF) under The Danish Olympic Commmittee and Sports Confederation of Denmark (DIF) federations.
Deaf Sport is organized as an independent federation, as it is significantly different from both hearing sport as disability sport due our language, sign language. We considered rather as a linguistic minority group rather than one disability group.
Like the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games for the disabled has Deaf sSport a similar event during International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) - Deaflympics, which is held every 4 years, approved by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) with Olympic status. There is also a corresponding Winter Olympics for the deaf, which is offset by 2 years.
Danish Deaf Sports Federation has two employees, Joachim Krøyer (Elite Chief) and André Kobberholm (Sports Officer)
