European Deaf Marathon Championships 2023 (English)

In 2 days, the European Deaf Marathon Championships in Odense will kick off, and we eagerly anticipate witnessing the runners taking over the enchanting city. Here, we have compiled the essential information for your convenience.

For participants in the HCA Marathon as amateur runners, it is imperative to adhere to the guidelines and instructions provided. On this page, we will go over the details pertaining to the EDMC and the spectators.

Schedule

  • The race starts at 10:00 AM.
  • The EM marathon awards ceremony is scheduled for 1:45 PM.

From 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, there will be “Front Food” options available, featuring a large screen and food/drinks from Albani, Bull Burger, Bummii’ Thai Food, Torvekøkkenets Pancakes, Billy’s Food Truck, Bellinge Grillen, Gooodis, and Fogarolli Coffee (see overview map).

From 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, there will also be a Sports Fair with free admission at Odense Sports Park Hall 1.

DDI (Danish Deaf Sports Federation)

DDI will have a presence throughout the day with a booth located near Odense Athletics Stadium. You can stop by for a chat or receive information about the event. Please note that there may be periods when the booth is unmanned due to our various responsibilities during the entire event.

The Route

The runners will complete two laps of 21 kilometers each. Please refer to the route map below for details.
