First day at the Nordic and Baltic Deaf Discgolf Championships

English version:

After the 2nd round of the Nordic-Baltic Championship on Bornholm, the competition is heating up at the top of the men’s tournament:

  • 1st place: Kairo Reiu from Estonia.
  • Tied 2nd place: Victor Jannerlid Söderberg from Sweden and Jani Haapanen from Finland.
  • 3rd place: Janne Koskela from Finland, just one throw behind.

With only one throw separating the top five players, the stage is set for an exciting 3rd round where anything can happen.

The first round was marked by nerves and strong winds, which had a significant impact on the players’ performances. Many were ranked higher after the first round, but in the 2nd round, you could see the players beginning to stabilize their games. The message from national coach Lasse Christensen was clear after the first round: “Just aim for par or a bogey (1 over par). There’s no need to risk everything just to move up a spot. Take it easy.” Several players took this advice to heart, and Kristian Damgaard Halse, in particular, is in a good position after the 2nd round.

Danish participants:

  • Christian Klim is in 10th place.
  • Kristian Halse is in 15th place.
  • Ulrik Mjelva is in 18th place.
  • Emil Stabel is in 21st place.
  • Mark Blynov is in 25th place.
  • Lars Hedegaard is in 29th place.

In the women’s tournament, Norway’s Eirin Brun holds a solid first place with a 13-throw lead over the 2nd place. Anette Ojastu is in 2nd place, and Mimmi Granat from Sweden is in 3rd place. Ane Karstensen is in 5th place out of 5 participants.

Tomorrow, anything can happen, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the players perform.
