In the period from 1 to 8 February, 33 young people from all over the Scandinavia were gathered in the Moroccan city of Taghazout, with one common goal; to learn how to surf.
The group was gathered together for Nordic Deaf Surf Camp 2020, arranged by the Danish Deaf Sports Federation. Six nationalities were represented in the group, consisting of deaf young people from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Lithuania, Germany and Denmark. The 33 participants were accompanied by the two tour managers, Daniel Ovesen and André Kobberholm, and the Danish Deaf Sports Federations interpreter, Louise Green.
The ambitions were high and all the participants diligently received the instructors’ best advices and practical instructions before they went out fighting the intense waves.
Beside the many activities on the beach, it was also a trip where the social was paramount. It was seven great and fun days where new friendships arose.
Daniel Ovesen and André Kobberholm would like to say a big thank you to all the participants for a fantastic trip. Because of you we made Nordic Deaf Surf Camp 2020 a huge success. We are already looking forward to planning a similar event in the future!
